Lucian Read is a Texas-born New York-based cinematographer, producer, and photojournalist. He has worked extensively in the Middle East and the High Arctic, as well as the United States and Latin America. His film work includes directing "99%" - an official Sundance 2013 US documentary selection. He was recognized for his work in Iraq with a 2005 World Press Award and nominated for an Emmy in 2010 for his work in Afghanistan. An extensive selection of his work with the US Marines hangs on the walls of the National History of the Marine Corps Museum in Quantico, VA. His photographic work has been published in magazines and newspapers worldwide including Vanity Fair, The New Yorker, Newsweek, Time, and The New York Times. His video work appeared regularly on the Dan Rather Reports program. He is currently working on the upcoming Showtime climate change documentary series, Years of Living Dangerously, which will air in early 2014.
